Telugu Desam Party deputy floor leader Gali Muddu Krishnamma Naidu on Wednesday criticised the State Government for imposing power cuts across the sectors.
Talking to reporters at the Telugu Desam Legislature Party office, Krishnamma Naidu said that it was for the first time in the history of Andhra Pradesh that power cuts were being imposed in the month of December. He reminded that the Congress party in its 2009 election manifesto has promised nine hours of power supply for farmers. However, the supply was first reduced to seven hours and presently, it has been restricted to three to four hours per day, he said.
The TDP leader slammed the government for imposing cut on industrial sector for two days in a week. He said that the industrial sector have suffered the production losses of nearly Rs 40,000 crore which consequently affected the government’s revenues to the tune of about Rs 4,000 crore in terms of taxes and other sources.
Muddukrishnamma Naidu asked as to why the State Government was not approaching the Centre for more power. Instead of imposing cuts, the State could buy power from the private sector. However, he said that the government was dragging the problems instead of finding a permanent solution for the same. (INN)
