'You democratic killers' this is the term used by Nagendra Babu to describe a couple of corrupt politicians in the film Ek Police. Now that he has made a political entry, Megabrother Nagendra Babu should do a rethink about the films he acts in and the kind of message that is sent across. Ek Police is a film made without much thought and the lack of effort shows.

What is it about: The film is about a corrupt police officer, Jaichandra (Nagendra Babu). The officer does not care about any crime that is committed in the city as long as he gets his cut. In parallel, there is the story of four college students, who are called four monkeys and who will do anything for publicity and their friend Gayatri (Gayatri Rao). One of the lecturers in their college, Satyamurthy (Prithvi) is killed by some goons and the students capture it on their cell phone. They hand over the evidence to Jaichandra, who promptly sells it off to the goons. When the students confront Jaichandra, the real reason behind the officer's corrupt ways are revealed. How the officer, in tandem with the students ends rowdyism in the city forms the crux of the plot.

What is special : Pretty much nothing about this movie is special. The film's plot seems like something that was written everyday on the sets and the scenes appear very amateurish. Megabrother Nagendra Babu's efforts to put in a decent performance deserve mention, but that is about it.

What is not: Everything. Outdated plot, bad performances and uninteresting plot twists make the movie tough to sit through. The flashback is completely illogical and introducing a character called Annayya (played by Ali) is clearly an attempt to cash in on the Megastar's image. Kodi Ramakrishna has taken too long a break from cop films and the cracks show. The rest of the performances, the less talked about, the better.

Me Thinks : Avoid. Ek Police Ek Star Ek week film. This is the public talk.

Tailpiece : Bad choice of role by Happy Days actress Gayatri. Her character was really liked in Happy Days and she need not have done a completely insignificant role in this film.
