Baava

Siddharth has been trying hard to promote the audio of his next release Baava. This will be the second time that Chakri will be giving music for Siddharth, who consistently had hit music for his films. Will Baava continue to do that for him, 123telugu.com tells you!

1.Pannendella Praayam
Singer : M.M.Keeravani
Lyricist: Anantha Sriram

BaavaA violin solo starts off the album, much different from Chakri’s music we’ve heard. And surprise surprise music director M.M.Keeravani sings this slow and soulful number. Anantha Sriram adds a lot of depth to the tune with his words. Layers of guitars keep strumming throughout the song as it flows smoothly. Hardly a number you’d expect from Chakri, but that’s probably the reason why this song is numbered first in the album. To tell you that this isn’t just any regular album!

2. Naa Raama Chilaka
Singers: Vasu
Lyricist: Bhaskarabhatla

BaavaQuite in a different tone from the previous number, Naa Rama Chilaka is a true blue Chakri number. It has got the usual folk, a singer trying hard to get the best in a high pitch. Ultimately this one is a funny and a boy-teasing-girl number, and it stays so. The lyrics from Bhaskarabhatla are apt too. Probably this one could have been bit faster, but the violin solo and electric guitar solo to the end is eclectic.

3. Mila Mila
Singers : Ranjith, Harini
Lyricist: Kandikonda

BaavaMila Mila starts off differently and yet falls into the trap of the average lead tune. However, the singers take this song to a different level, with their energy and their variations. What is good to notice here is that Chakri, probably inspired by Siddharth, makes it a point to use quality instruments and the effort to impress is quite visible…err audible! Telugu words sound great when they are used sensibly, and Kandikonda reiterates this fact here.

4. Nagara Nagara
Singers : Chakri, Geetha Madhuri
Lyricist: Kandikonda

BaavaJust when you thought you are missing Chakri’s voice in an album he gave music for, here he comes. Nagara Nagara is an out and out folk number, with energetic electric guitars following. This song is going to be a rave amongst the upcoming folk festivals, with youngsters dying to dance their own versions of Teen Maar! Geetha Madhuri does well in this rustic masti number!

5. Rudrudu Ramudu
Singer: Mano
Lyricist: Vanamali

BaavaSinger Mano has all the energy that a typical angry Telugu song deserves. Only this one is too clichéd and Chakri fails to add anything new or make any variation in this one. The lyrics are on a high, but it seems the music director has tried his best to rely completely on the singer and lyricist. Definitely the song is going to be an interesting watch in the movie.

6. Baava Baava
Singers: Siddharth & Baava Boys
Lyricist: Ramjogayya Sastry

BrindavanamAgain a funny number, but this one has a different style, as Siddharth sings this one. The beat is fast, may be too fast, and the song follows it rather than the other way around. The different voices make the song a touch difficult to understand, though obviously one can understand that it is a self appraisal song that a typical Telugu hero sings in a film.

Overall the album has songs of various styles and is aimed to entertain. It manages to do that more often, though one feels like skipping one or two songs. Chakri, in association with Siddharth, does manage to break his own style and gives a memorable tune for the song Pannendella Praayam. Chakri should continue trying. Until then, Baava will probably remain his best in terms of orchestration and variety. Does Siddharth get a hit number here, he probably will in Mila Mila.
