Mass Maharaja ‘Ravi Teja’s ‘Saroccharu’ is getting ready for release on December 21st and the audio album has been released directly into the market. The album has been scored by Devi Sri Prasad and there are 5 songs in all in this album. A lot is riding on this movie for Ravi Teja, so let us see how the songs are.
1, Song: Made for each other
Singers: Devi Sri Prasad
Lyrics : Ramajogayya Sastry
This is a peppy number that has been rendered by Devi Sri Prasad himself and the vocals makes a favourable impression right away. The lyrics penned by Ramajogayya Sastry are easy on the ears and Devi Sri’s musical score complements the song well. The song describes the character traits of the hero and the heroine in a slightly humorous way. Decent number overall.
2.Song: Jaga Jaga Jagadeka Veera
Singers: Venu, Ranina Reddy
Lyrics: Ramajogayya Sastry
A slow romantic duet that has Switzerland written all over it, ‘Jaga Jaga Jagadeka Veera’ is a song that makes an instant impression. Rendered beautifully by Venu and Ranina Reddy, this number has a very soothing effect on you. Ramajogayya Sastry’s lyrics are adequate and do their job. DSP comes up with a pretty good musical score for this song and you can see some signature DSP notes here. A good use of the synthesizer and percussion instruments makes this song an instant hit. Expect a pretty stunning picturization for this number.
3.Song: Raccha Rambola
Singers: Javed Ali, Rita
This is a fast paced duet that has a mass feel to it. Javed Ali and Rita do a decent job with the vocals. Srimani has penned the lyrics and they are very ordinary. DSP’s music is slightly unconventional and except for the peppy nature of the soundtrack, there is nothing special here. It will be interesting to see how this song will be picturized. This song ends up being a very average number.
4.Song: Gusa Gusa
Singers: Sagar, Sunitha
Lyrics: Anantha Sriram
This is the second romantic duet of the movie and I am guessing one each must have been reserved for Kajal and Richa Gangopadhyay. Sagar and Sunitha have lent their voices for this number and their performance is good. Sunitha’s voice in particular is very romantic and complements the song well. Anantha Sriram’s lyrics are good. Devi Sri’s music is decent and a heavy use of percussion instruments can be felt. The song is a short one, at 3:35 minutes. A good number overall and easy to like the first time itself.
5.Song: Kaatuka Kallu
Singers: Khushi Murali, Swetha Mohan, Chinna Ponnu
This 4 minute number is an out and out mass track that is aimed squarely at the front benchers. Expect a masala picturization with some typical Ravi Teja dance moves. Shwetha Mohan’s voice stands out in this number for its melodious nature while Murali has rendered the vocals with good energy. Lyrics have a typical Chandrabose flavour and they do their job. DSP’s music is sufficiently rustic and the sound is dominated by traditional instruments. Nothing spectacular, but a decent number that will work if the picturization is good.
‘Sarocharu’ is a typical Ravi Teja album that has two good duets, one mass number and two peppy tracks. Though not spectacular, Devi Sri Prasad continues his good form and delivers a decent album that offers scope for a colourful picturization. With Parasuram at the helm, these songs should have good visuals. The songs ‘Jaga Jaga Jagadeka Veera’ and ‘Gusa Gusa’ are my favourite numbers from this album for their melodious nature.
