After the super success of Drishyam, Venkatesh is back with yet another mature character with Gopala Gopala. One the eve of the film’s release, we caught up with Venky for a brief interview. Let’s see what he has to say.
Q) Tell us about your character in Gopala Gopala ?
A) I play the character of Gopala Rao, who does not believe in god. This is a concept based film which has an underlying message. We have tried to convey the message in quite a humorous way.
Q) How was it working with Pawan Kalyan ?
A) I share a very close relation with him from quite some time now. Right from the initial stages of this project, we wanted someone like him to do the god’s role. He has done a superb job in the film which will be liked by everyone.
Q) You are a very religious person. How difficult was it to do this role ?
A) I took this as a challenge and have added my personal opinions about religion and beliefs in my role. It was quite interesting for me to do a role like this which gives a very strong message.
Q) Tell us about Shreya’s character in the film ?
She plays a typical housewife in the film, and has done a wonderful job with her role.
Q) How has Dolly managed to direct this film ?
A) Dolly has worked for many projects under Suresh Productions. For this film, he has done a lot of research and worked very hard to make this film look neat and entertaining.
Q) Have you done any changes to the remake ?
A) Yes! we have done quite a number of changes to the remake. Pawan Kalyan’s screen time was increased, and the screenplay will run according to the Telugu nativity.
Q) Which is your favorite scene in the film ?
A) I love the complete film, and especially my character which has come out extremely well. Very rarely do you get to do a character like this and I had a wonderful time enacting it.
