Review : Aadu Magaadra Bujji – Routine Fare

Talented hero Sudheer Babu, who gave a hit with Prema Katha Chitram, is back with the romantic entertainer Aadu Magaadu Ra Bujji. Directed by Krishnareddy Gangadhasuu, this film has Asmita Sood and Ajay in lead roles. The fim has hit the screens today, so let us see how it is.

Story :-

Siddhu(Sudheer Babu) is a playful college youth who often finds himself in trouble. In college, he falls in love with Indu(Asmita Sood). Siddhu tries to woo Indu, but he is always obstructed by her protective brother Cherry(Ranadhir).

In order to divert Cherry’s attention, Siddhu comes up with a plan and links him up with Anjali(Poonam Kaur). Just when things seem to be going along fine, Shankar Anna(Ajay) comes into the picture. Shankar Anna is Anjali’s uncle and wants to marry her at any cost.

After finding out about Anjali’s love affair, Shakar loses his cool and bashes up Cherry, leaving him badly injured. An upset Indu blasts Siddhu for putting her brother’s life in trouble.

How does Siddhu deal with the powerful Shankar Anna? How will he solve his problems? That is the story of the movie.

Plus Points :-

Sudheer Babu has matured as an actor. He is much more at ease in front of the camera now. As usual, he is pretty good in his fights and dance.

Ajay has a massive screen presence and keeps improving with every film of his. In Aadu Magaadu Ra Bujji, he has a major role and he has played it with ease.

Comedy scenes designed on a dog have been executed well. The way the dog has been made to talk and the dubbing done for it is also interesting.

First half of the film has decent entertainment. Naresh’s comedy as Sudheer’s father is also OK

Minus Points :-

After a simple first half, the second half loses focus. Different comedy tracks have been forced into the film making it tedious.

The story loses its grip and starts wandering after a while. Dhee and Ready type of situational comedy takes over and makes the plot predictable.

Sudheer Babu’s much hyped six pack body, which has been promoted aggressively, does not get much importance and is showcased only in one song.

Lead actress, Asmita Sood is also a big let down. She lacks the glamor quotient and looks quite old in many scenes.

Technical Aspects :-

Songs in Aadu Magaadu Ra Bujju are just about OK, and so is the background score. Dialogues are pretty good and suit Sudheer Babu’s body language well.

Screenplay lacks grip and loses focus in the second half. Camerawork is pretty decent and production values are also rich. Sudheer Babu’s dance and fights have been designed and executed well.

As said earlier, director Krishna Reddy loses his grip in the second half. When you expect something interesting, a rather routine set of situational comedy scenes are showcased.

A crisper second half would have helped considerably.

Verdict :-

Aadu Magaadu Ra Bujji has been tailored to showcase Sudheer Babu’s talents. But the film as a whole is quite mediocre. Other than a decent first half and some comedy scenes, this film is quite routine and cliched.
