Review : Dhenikaina Ready – Enjoyable comedy drama

Manchu Vishnu’s ‘Dhenikaina Ready’ has released today on the occasion of Vijaya Dasami and the movie has been getting good vibes as a comedy entertainer. The movie has Hansika as the female lead and an all star comedy cast including Brahmanandam, M.S.Narayana, Dharmavarapu and others. Let us see how ‘Dhenikaina Ready’ is..

Story :

The movie’s story revolves Suleiman (Vishnu Manchu) and two warring factions led by Veera Narasimha Naidu (Prabhu) and Bhasha (Suman). Savithri (Seetha) is Narasimha Naidu’s sister and she elopes with Bhasha many years ago, leading to friction between the families. Narasimha Naidu’s group loses a court case to Bhasha and on the suggestion of Sampangi Sastry (M.S.Narayana), Naidu decides to get a Chandi Yaagam performed to bring good luck.

Into this scenario comes in Suleiman as Krishna Sastry. He is brought into the scene by Bangar Raju (Brahmanandam) by mistake and what follows is a comedy of errors. Suleiman a.k.a. Krishna Sastry slowly tries to get into the good books of Naidu and also earns a place in the heart of Sharmila (Hansika).

All hell breaks loose when Bangar Raju realises his mistake and Suleiman must now play a very clever game to save his skin. Will he succeed ? Will the two warring families unite ? That forms the story.

Plus Points :

Vishnu is very good in this movie. His dances are a revelation and he has improved tremendously in all aspects with this movie. His comedy scenes with Brahmanandam and M.S.Narayana have come out well. Hansika is good in the movie and she looked ravishing at times. Her chemistry with Vishnu worked well.

Brahmanandam is a major asset for this movie. As Bangar Raju, he manages to entertain quite a lot, especially in the second half. His reactions when cornered in tight situations are hilarious. Together with M.S.Narayana and Dharmavarapu, Brahmanandam has done a good job in the comedy department. Master Bharath is decent but he is very lean now. I missed the chubby old version

Prabhu, Subba Raju, Suman, Seetha and Pragathi did their job well. Vennela Kishore is neat as Vishnu’s friend.

The second half of the movie has very nice and clean comedy. Family crowds will love this part. Director Nageshwar Reddy has managed to keep the humour flowing. Credit must be given to screenplay writers Gopi Mohan and Kona Venkat for doing a good job here. Pace is fast in the second half of the movie.

Prabhas’s dubbing in a few scenes has worked well and Brahmanandam’s reaction to that is fun to watch. The humorous medley of popular film songs towards the end had people laughing quite heartily.

Interval twist is good and action scenes have been shot well. The sentiment scenes in the movie have been handled well and will connect with the audience.

Minus Points :

The first half of the film is slightly slow Placement of songs could have been better. Also, there is nothing new in terms of story or concept and the film is similar to Dhee and Ready.

Kota Srinivasa Rao has not been utilized to his full potential and he appears only sporadically throughout the movie. Raghubabu and L.B. Sriram don’t have much to do either.

Technical Aspects :

Cinematography is pretty decent. Marudhuri Raja’s dialogues are good, especially in comedy scenes. Chinna’s re-recording is effective and helps the film considerably. Editing is good in the second half but it could have been sharper in the first half.

Nageshwara Reddy has succeeded in maintaining a high comedy quotient in the movie. Like I said before, screenplay is good. Production values are good and the film has a rich feel to it.

Verdict :

Clean entertainment has always worked at the Box Office in our industry and it looks like Vishnu has got it right this time. He has done a good job in this movie and you will enjoy Brahmanandam’s performance. A routine story and a slightly slow first half are the only issues I had with this film. Overall, you will walk out of the theater happy. Dhenikaina Ready is a good, time pass entertainer that makes for a nice holiday watch.
