Yesterday, the Kerala state government announced the launch of an OTT platform to support low budget movies that have been struggling to get a theatrical release due to the lockdown and the might of the star-driven big budget movies. The OTT app will be launched very soon.
Now, the latest buzz is that the Tamil Nadu Film Chamber is also planning to launch an OTT app to offer a platform for low budget movies. Apparently, the Film Chamber is currently sourcing a list of all the low budget movies that could not get a theatrical release since 2015 to 2021. More details to follow. On the other hand, there have been increasing demands to replicate the same strategy in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
