Ever since his fiery speech at Republic’s pre-release event around a week ago, actor-politician Pawan Kalyan has been the centre of a huge political controversy. Pawan’s statements against Andhra Pradesh CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy seem to have not gone well with even some film industry bigwigs.
Barring actors like Nani and Kartikeya, none of the prominent Tollywood celebrities have come out in open and supported Pawan Kalyan’s statements against the YSRCP government. In fact, Republic’s director Deva Katta himself said that Pawan’s statements are his personal opinions and that Republic’s team has nothing to do with the Janasena chief’s statements.
In a startling revelation, minister Perni Nani yesterday told the media that Chiranjeevi telephoned him and expressed regret over Pawan’s statements. Adding to this, producer Dil Raju, who was part of the team of Tollywood representatives that met minister Nani in Machilipatnam yesterday, said in a media interaction that nobody should politicise film industry’s issues. Chiru and all other Tollywood bigwigs expressed willingness to work with the AP government to resolve the issues amicably.
Also, except Thammareddy Bharadwaj, none of the prominent Tollywood celebrities have condemned Posani Krishna Murali’s abusive language against Pawan Kalyan. In this scenario, fans are feeling that Pawan Kalyan has been isolated by Tollywood in his fight against Jagan government. Needless to say, all eyes are on Pawan’s future plan of action. Will he continue to wage a lone battle?
