The 94th Academy Awards ceremony happened in Los Angeles today. Simply known as Oscars, the biggest movie awards event, has received a huge backlash from Indians.
Every year, Oscars pay tribute to the actors, filmmakers and other craftspeople who passed away over the past year, with a special segment called `In Memoriam.’ This year, the Oscars failed to give tribute to the late Indian Playback Singer Lata Mangeshkar and the late Indian actor Dilip Kumar, who made Indian cinema proud.
This has made the legends’ fans get angry with the Oscars committee. Netizens have called out the Oscars on social media and some others have slammed it by saying that Colonialism lives on. To remember, Dilip Kumar left us all in July 2021 and Lata Mangeshkar in February 2022.
