The popularity of OTT space has increased enormously after the pandemic. Audiences also choose OTT platforms to watch new films for various reasons. To make people visit theaters again, the film industries have taken a new step.
A few weeks ago, the Telugu Film Producers Council announced that starting from July 1, 2022, no theatrical release will be out on any OTT platform until 8 weeks of theatrical run. Now, Bollywood is also following the same thing.
The producers and studios have decided to release their films on OTT platforms only after 8 weeks of their theatrical release. The new rule will be applied to all Hindi movies released on and after August 1, 2022.
