A sad day in the history of the Telugu film industry. Actor and producer Uppalapati Venkata Krishnam Raju, simply known as Krishnam Raju, is no more. He was suffering from health issues and breathed his last around 03:25 AM today in Hyderabad. He was 83.
Popularly known as Rebel Star, he was born in Mogalturu, West Godavari in 1940. He made his acting debut with Chilaka Gorinka in 1966. The film also won the Nandi Award. He later acted as a handsome villain in many movies. He became a hero eventually and won the hearts of millions of youngsters at that time. Krishnam Raju garu acted in over 183 movies. He was last appeared in Prabhas’ Radhe Shyam, released this year.
He was also an active politician. He owned the production banner Gopi Krishna Movies. He also won many Filmfare Awards and Nandi Awards. Thandra Paparayudu, Bhakta Kannapa, Bobbili Brahmanna, Bava Bavamaridi, Dharmathmudu, Jeevana Tarangalu Krishnaveni and others are his famous films.
Tollywood actors and technicians mourned the death of the great actor. The sudden demise of Rebel Star created a void in their family. The final rituals will happen in the afternoon tomorrow. We at 123Telugu expressing our deepest condolences to the family of the great actor Krishnam Raju garu.
