Hero Vijay’s upcoming gangster drama, Leo, is one of the most eagerly awaited Tamil movies of this year. The Lokesh Kanagaraj directorial has already wrapped up a major portion of its shoot and is scheduled for its world theatrical release on the 19th of October as a Diwali festive treat for fans.
Given the humongous buzz around the film, Leo is already a hot cake among trade circles. As per the latest updates coming in from the Kerala film circles, Leo has just set a massive new record in the state. The film’s Kerala distribution rights have been sold for a staggering Rs 16 crore. This is the highest ever deal for any non-Malayalam film in Kerala.
With the latest deal, Leo has surpassed the previous record holders such as 2 Point 0 (Rs 14 Cr), Baahubali 2 (Rs 10.5 Cr), RRR (Rs 10 Cr) and Ponniyin Selvan 2 (Rs 9 Cr). Vijay is hugely popular across Kerala, and the latest record deal for Leo is just another proof of his stardom. Also starring Trisha, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun and others in lead roles, Leo is being produced by SS Lalit Kumar and Jagadish P. Anirudh Ravichander is composing the music.
