Fahadh Faasil’s recent outing, Aavesham, has stormed the box office, and to date, the film has collected more than 100 crores gross. In a recent interview, the actor revealed an interesting fact about Mollywood.
The actor said, “Trade has grown for Mollywood, but we don’t have a solid backup from streaming platforms. We need to prove our mettle in theatres only, and only then will the OTT platforms show interest in acquiring our content. Unlike the rest of India, where 80% of films are sold even before the shoot is started, things are quite different for us.”
Fahadh Faasil also said, “It is not our model. We must complete films and release them to depict their potential before they find traction from streaming platforms. This approach has influenced our cinematic culture. It makes us concentrate on creating compelling stories and delivering quality content.”
