While Anil Ravipudi is gearing up for his next release Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu, his National Award-winning film Bhagavanth Kesari has unexpectedly returned to the spotlight. The reason is Jana Nayagan.
The recently released trailer of Jana Nayagan sparked discussions online, with many viewers pointing out its striking similarities to Bhagavanth Kesari, which starred Nandamuri Balakrishna in the lead. As the comparisons gained traction on social media, curiosity around the Telugu film increased rapidly.
Currently streaming on Amazon Prime Video, Bhagavanth Kesari began climbing the platform’s drama category charts. It initially entered the list at the second position and has now moved to the top spot, indicating a strong rewatch trend among OTT audiences.
In that sense, Jana Nayagan has indirectly pushed Bhagavanth Kesari back into the limelight. The Tamil film is scheduled for a theatrical release on January 9, 2026, and will also have a Telugu release titled Jana Nayakudu. It is directed by H Vinoth, with Pooja Hegde playing the female lead.
It now remains to be seen how Jana Nayagan performs at the box office, especially with the comparisons already setting the tone ahead of its release.
