Telugu audiences have always encouraged well-made true-blue horror films and also horror comedies. In recent times, movies like Masooda, Virupaksha, Kishkindhapuri, Shambala, and Korean Kanakaraju have emerged as clean box-office hits. This Independence Day weekend, the new horror film Agadha, directed by MS Raju, is testing its luck.
The director took an interesting step to draw crowds to the theatres. MS Raju is hellbent on not releasing Agadha on OTT for at least 60 days after its theatrical release. Telugu movies mostly arrive on OTT four weeks after their theatrical launch. There has been an ever-growing debate about the shorter theatrical window, and in this regard, MS Raju’s stance is definitely appreciable.
MS Raju further added that the OTT deal is still on hold, presumably since he is demanding a longer window. Kamakshi Bhaskarla, Ulka Gupta, and Shravan played the lead roles.
