Jana Nayagan marks the farewell film of Tamil Nadu CM Vijay. The movie, directed by H. Vinoth, didn’t meet expectations content-wise, but it sprung a surprise with its box-office run. The action drama isn’t a commercial success, but it is still the highest-grossing Tamil film of the year despite negative reviews, poor word of mouth, and piracy leaks. Jana Nayagan once again proved that Vijay is second to none in Tamil Nadu.
After its theatrical run, Jana Nayagan is now set to have its digital premiere. ZEE5, which holds the film’s post-theatrical streaming rights, has officially announced that Jana Nayagan will be available on its platform starting August 21.
The biggie is expected to make its OTT debut simultaneously in other Indian languages too. Produced by KVN Productions, Jana Nayagan features Pooja Hegde, Mamitha Baiju, Bobby Deol, Priyamani, and several others in key roles. Anirudh composed the tunes.
