Ranbir Kapoor and Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana is carrying massive expectations, but the film’s overseas business could be crucial for its success.

According to trade estimates, the ambitious epic needs to collect at least $30 million in the US market alone to reach its break-even target.

With its huge budget, grand scale, star cast, and international appeal, Ramayana is expected to attract audiences beyond India. So, the overseas collections will be key.

However, achieving such a number will not be easy, as the makers have spent close to $10 million to promote the film overseas. Let’s see if the film lives up to all the hype created.

Dheeraj Mogilineni is now coming up with the family entertainer Summer Holidays, directed by Srikar. The movie is about a child’s summer vacation experience in his maternal grandmother’s village. Master Rohan and Master Arun play the lead roles.

The pre-release event was held today and it was graced by Kiran Abbavaram. Speaking at the event, the actor said, “I am surprised by the way the kids are talking. I just learned swimming at that age. We are busy with our lives. At some point in our lives, I feel people should take up agriculture for one year. It won’t give us money, but it gives us dedication and stability.”

Kiran Abbavaram added, “I hope Summer Holidays will bring back our forgotten memories. The writer and director did a very good job. Please don’t see Summer Holidays as a small film. Many have worked hard on it. I never felt it was a small film, as the kids have amazed me with their acting.”

“Dheeraj anna has always offered support to me. He should score a good success with this one. He has been promoting the movie all by himself, being at the forefront of the interviews. Good things should happen to him. It takes a lot of guts to back a film like Summer Holidays,” concluded Kiran Abbavaram.

Earlier, theatres in Tamil Nadu also used to have early morning shows, similar to those in the Telugu states. However, they were stopped after a fan unfortunately lost his life during the Thunivu vs Varisu clash in 2023.

Vijay’s TVK government has now issued a new GO stating that newly released films can be screened from 6 AM to 2:30 AM during the first week of their release. Theatres are also allowed to screen six shows on weekends, festivals and government holidays.

However, Vijay has rejected the request to increase ticket prices for any film, and this decision is being welcomed by cinephiles. Suriya’s Scene will be the first major Kollywood release to take advantage of the 6 AM shows after a long gap.
