In just 2 days, the world is going to experience what Namit Malhotra, Nitesh Tiwari and others have created with Ramayana: Rise of a Legend. The promotions have been decent, and the buzz is also good, thanks to the talk coming from the early premieres.

The mythological epic has clocked more than 523K tickets on BookMyShow, surpassing Animal, Tiger 3, Chhaava and others. However, it is behind Jawan and Dhurandhar 2. In these two days, there are chances of getting close to or even surpassing Jawan’s 816K advance sales, but matching Dhurandhar 2’s 1.1 million ticket mark looks very difficult.

So far, the film has reportedly crossed the Rs. 100 crore mark in global advance bookings. The opening day collection is expected to go beyond Rs. 150 crore worldwide, according to trade expectations.

Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi and Yash, along with Ravi Dubey, Sunny Deol, Kajal Aggarwal, Rakul Preet Singh and others, are in key roles in this Rs. 2,000 crore film (first part). Hans Zimmer and AR Rahman are composing the music for this Indian biggie.

Coming from the Prasanth Varma Cinematic Universe (PVCU), Mahakali created massive expectations with its initial promotions. Now, the superhero movie stays ahead of other Sankranthi 2027 releases in one aspect.

It has become the first movie among the festival releases to drop its first single. Titled Aigiri Nandini, the song will be released tomorrow. Composed by Smaran Sai, the promo has already created a hit vibe. We need to see when the other movies competing with Mahakali will begin their promotions.

Bhoomi Shetty plays the lead in this movie, which is directed by Pooja Kolluri in her feature debut. Akshaye Khanna, Sriya Reddy and other noted actors are part of this biggie, which is set to release in IMAX and other premium formats on January 8, 2027. Produced by Riwaz Ramesh Duggal under the banner of RKD Studios, the movie will be released in multiple languages.

The Bombay High Court has stepped in to stop online piracy of the upcoming film Ramayana: Rise of a Legend before its theatrical release. The makers approached the court after parts of the trailer were secretly recorded and leaked online during a private screening. They were worried that the film could also be leaked online once it hits cinemas, so the court has granted an urgent order to protect it.

The court has ordered internet providers and social media companies to block and remove any unauthorised clips, audio or full copies of the movie. Tech companies like Google have agreed to follow the order. Anyone caught uploading or sharing pirated links could face legal action.

To make sure piracy websites cannot find new ways to share the film, the court has issued what is called a “dynamic” order. This means the makers do not have to go back to court every time a new link or website appears. Those links and websites can also be blocked under the same order. The order will remain in place until mid-December, when the court will review the case again.

This is a big relief for the filmmakers, especially since the first part of Ramayana is reportedly being made on a budget of Rs. 2,000 crore. The film stars Ranbir Kapoor, Yash and Sai Pallavi, with music composed by AR Rahman and Hans Zimmer. With so much money involved, the makers will want fans to watch the film in theatres rather than through illegal links.
