Tollywood writer BVS Ravi made some significant comments about the industry and its lack of planning before a project goes on floors. He firmly stated that the Dhurandhar franchise, which cost ₹260 crores, cannot be made within the same budget in Telugu.

He said, “Dhar shot eight hours of footage. Imagine how hard he would have worked and the amount of research that would have gone into it. How did he convince his producers to spend so much? Dhurandhar is the beginning of the end of regular producers. They made two films within ₹260 crores, with a big star cast, out-of-the-world fights, Ranveer Singh’s luxurious house in the film, and other stunning locations.”

BVS Ravi added, “If it were made here, it would have cost ₹500 crores. The mistake is not with the heroes. Maybe they come late to the sets by an hour, that’s it. We lack planning, and the production timelines get extended here. Everything is about planning.”

The small-budget Telugu film Court: State Vs Nobody, produced by Nani, is among the rare films that turned profitable for all stakeholders. Priyadarshi played a junior lawyer handling a POCSO case, and the film earned widespread praise. The film also emerged as a smash hit on OTT. Now, Court is being remade in Tamil.

Senior actor Prashanth is reprising Priyadarshi’s role, and the latest update reveals that the Tamil remake is titled Ranjan, with the tagline “The Advocate.” The title was unveiled in a grand event, and interestingly, it hints that the remake will have a stronger emphasis on the protagonist.

The film is directed by Thiagarajan. Producer Kathiresan’s son Hari and actress Devayani’s daughter Priyanka Rajakumaran play the lead roles. G. V. Prakash Kumar is composing the tunes.
