Telugu youth romantic drama Hushar Pittalu landed in controversy soon after its teaser release, with social media users objecting to its bold romantic scenes, double meaning dialogues, and intimate content involving teenage characters. The debate created curiosity around the film even before its theatrical release.

Starring Ansh Thorat and Vasavi Ganesan, the film hit theatres on August 15, 2026, and emerged as a hit despite its controlled budget. A month later, Hushar Pittalu has now arrived on Amazon Prime Video, bringing its much discussed content to a wider audience.

Directed by Bikshu, the film blends teenage romance and comedy with themes of peer pressure, smartphones, and the influence of online content.

K. Venkat Yadav produced the film under Rudra Kranti Pictures, while Asian Suresh Entertainment distributed it. The supporting cast includes Sunitha Manohar, Anji Valguman, Govardhan Reddy (Govardhan BK), and Ramesh Nakirekanti.

With the film already proving successful in theatres, the bigger question is how OTT audiences will respond. Will its bold treatment work in its favour, or will the same content spark another round of debate? Hushar Pittalu now faces a new audience and a fresh test.

Six years after Bollywood announced its official remake of The Intern, the film is still waiting to go on floors. Meanwhile, its Korean counterpart has already been shot and is set to hit Asian cinemas on October 1, 2026. The stark contrast raises an obvious question: where did the Indian adaptation disappear?

The answer lies in a chain of setbacks behind the scenes. The project began with Rishi Kapoor and Deepika Padukone in the lead, but Kapoor’s tragic death led to Amitabh Bachchan stepping into his role. The biggest setback came when Padukone later dropped out as the female lead, choosing to remain involved only as a producer.

The Hindi remake is technically still alive, but practically frozen. Warner Bros. India and KA Productions retain the rights, while Bachchan remains attached. What the project now needs is a new female lead to finally get production moving.

And after six years of delays, even if the film goes on floors soon, a theatrical release before 2027 looks increasingly unlikely, with 2028 also a possibility.
