Mamitha Baiju is currently ruling the roost in Tamil cinema, doing a wide variety of roles. After impressing audiences with Dude, she is set to captivate them in a de-glam role in Dhanush-starrer Kara, which releases next month.

She is also the leading lady in Suriya’s Vishwanath & Sons, which is slated for a July release. According to the latest buzz in Kollywood, Mamitha Baiju has now been approached to play the heroine in Soori’s next.

The film, set to be directed by Ravikumar, is reportedly based on the 2015 Chennai floods. As of now, Mamitha Baiju hasn’t confirmed her presence in the film. If she comes on board, it will be another interesting outing from the latest sensation.

The makers of King, starring Bollywood Baadshah Shah Rukh Khan, planned a schedule in Dubai, but according to a report in Mid-Day, it has been called off due to safety concerns amid the ongoing situation in the Middle East.

The team was supposed to shoot some action sequences in this schedule, and all the necessary permissions had also been obtained well in advance. However, due to safety concerns, the team cancelled the schedule.

Director Siddharth Anand will now shoot those sequences in a studio in Vile Parle. The production design team is reportedly working on creating a desert landscape for the sequence that begins with a chase, resulting in intense combat.

King also stars Suhana Khan, Anil Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, Abhishek Bachchan, Rani Mukerji, Abhay Varma, Arshad Warsi, and Raghav Juyal in pivotal roles. Red Chillies Entertainment is backing this flick, which releases in cinemas during Christmas 2026.
