Adivi Sesh’s romantic action drama, Dacoit, is putting up a strong show at the box office with no major signs of slowdown. After a solid first week, the film has smoothly entered its second week with impressive hold and is showing a jump in collections and occupancies.
On its second Friday, Dacoit registered over 20.31K ticket bookings on BookMyShow, reflecting strong audience interest. With yesterday’s numbers, the film directed by Shaneil Deo has sprinted past the 50 crore worldwide gross mark, the fastest ever for a Sesh starrer.
Dacoit’s run is excellent in the overseas region, with the movie breaching $1.3 million and heading towards $1.5 million in North America. In the Telugu states, the bookings are seeing a surge for today and tomorrow, indicating that the movie is still the most preferred choice for audiences.
Nivin Pauly was recently seen in the political thriller Prathichaya, which clocked in disastrous numbers at the box office. Directed by Unnikrishnan, the film had poor buzz since its announcement, and mixed reviews sealed its fate. Even though Prathichaya was released during the State Assembly Elections, it failed to pique the interest of audiences.
The latest update reveals that Prathichaya will be available for streaming from April 24. Jio Hotstar holds the post-theatrical streaming rights. As of now, there is no clarity regarding the availability of dubbed versions. The movie revolves around a huge political crisis at the highest level of state leadership.
Sharaf U Dheen, Maniyanpilla Raju, Sai Kumar, Harisree Ashokan, Ann Augustine, Vishnu Agasthya, Nishant Sagar, and Neethu Krishna played key roles. Sree Gokulam Movies, along with RD Illuminations LLP, backed this flick.
