Exclusive Interview : Mahat Raghavendra- It was a challenge to portray this role

Young hero Mahat Raghavendra, is an upcoming actor who impressed us in films like Back Bench Student and Bunny and Cherry. His latest flick is the much awaited Ladies and Gentleman. On the eve of the film’s release, we caught up with Mahat for a brief and exclusive interview. Let’s see what he has to say.

Q) How did you bag this film ?

A) I heard this script when I was working with Madhura Sreedhar on Back Bench Student. The story idea and theme of the movie was very impressive and hit me instantly.

Q) Tell us about your role ?

A) I play a carefree youth who misuses the internet and tries to earn money. My character has a bit of negative shades but it was quite challenging to portray such a role.

Q) What is the movie all about ?

A) Our movie is an interesting take on today’s youth as to how their lives are affected by internet and other social media platforms. We have narrated this film in quite a concept driven manner without any typical commercial elements.

Q) How was it working with director Manjunath ?

A) Even though our director is a debutante, the way he has handled the movie is quite good. Script wise, Sanjeev Reddy has also done an amazing job and has given a contemporary feel to the film.

Q) How helpful was Madhura Sreedhar’s help as a producer ?

A) Oh ! he has helped us right through out the film. As a producer, he gave us more than expected and not once did he interfere in the direction department. All the actors have compromised on our remuneration as we wanted to be a part of a trend setting film.

Q) What are the highlights of the film ?

A) Major highlight of the film is the concept which is quite bold and suits today’s generation aptly. The way our director has handled these stories is yet another plus for the film.

Q) Do you think Telugu audience will accept such bold concepts ?

A) I think it is the right time to make films like these, as the audience has matured tremendously. However bold the film might be, it will make a right statement if it is told in an interesting manner.

Q) What are your future projects ?

A) I am doing a film titled Panchadara Pacchi Mirchi, and also have three films lined up in Tamil.
