Akkineni Akhil’s forthcoming romantic entertainer, Mr. Majnu, is gearing up for a January 25th release. On this occasion, we met with Akhil for an interview. Here is the transcript.
Q) How did this film roll out?
A) Way back, even before my first film released, Venky narrated this script to me. But as I was pre-occupied with two projects and asked him to not wait for me and go ahead with someone else. But he reserved this script for me and I should thank him for that. So, after finishing our individual projects, we started working on this film.
Q) What is the film all about?
A) It is an entertaining love story which has equal amounts of human emotions in it. In one word, it’s a wholesome entertainer.
Q) About your role?
A) Like we showcased in the trailer, I will be seen in a playboy character. For the first fifteen-twenty minutes, you will see scenes related to my character establishment. The first half of the film completely runs on my character’s energy. It is a bit challenging, but I loved portraying it.
Q) Regarding the pressure you are facing to deliver a super hit?
A) Ever since my first film was announced, I have been under that pressure. Over expectations and hype surrounding my films made me more careful and conscious in script selection. Finally, I’m now enjoying the space by doing what I can do in a better way.
Q) Your expectations on Mr.Majnu?
A) From the beginning, me and my entire team believed in the script and did whatever needed for it. I hope the audience will bless us with a positive feedback.
Q) About your director?
A) Venky really worked hard on the script, and his narration will have a classic touch. Moreover, I’m sure that his dialogues will make a mark after the film’s release. We both became close friends during the shooting of this film.
Q) Any experiences from the past films?
A) Definitely. Akhil and Hello taught me a lot and made me even stronger. I learned from the past experiences and tried to rectify them. I’m waiting for the audience feedback on Mr. Majnu.
Q) Dad’s involvement in your films?
A) Yes, he involves fron the script stage itself and gives the required inputs, but never forces us to do it his way. For this film too his guidance helped us deliver a quality product.
Q) Few words about your heroine?
A) We selected her after seeing Savyasachi’s rushes. She has a good grasping skills which helped me to perform with ease in our combination scenes. She has a good future in Tollywood.
Q) About eight-pack abs?
A) Our choreographer Sekhar master wanted me in that look. I showed off my abs only in the introduction song.
Q) Next projects?
A) As of now, I’m fully focused on this film. After the release, I will announce my next film.
