Interview : Anjali – There is no competition in this industry

Telugu girl Anjali, is a very busy actress these days with back to back movies in both Tamil and Telugu. This talented actress will be seen alongside Bala Krishna in Dictator which is up for release soon. On this occasion, we caught up with her for a brief interview. Let’s see what she has to say.

Q) How did you bag this offer?

Sriwass sir narrated me the story and told me that I would be apt for the role. As soon as I heard the story, I liked it very much and gave my dates.

Q) How was it working with Bala Krishna garu?

Bala Krishna garu is a very good actor and it’s been a splendid experience working with him. He is a very warm person and helps his supporting cast well. He gave me a lot of useful inputs that helped me immensely to improve my acting skills. I was awestruck with his discipline.

Q) You are looking different in this movie. Have you taken any special care?

Yes, right from my costumes to looks, I have taken utmost care. Even before I signed the movie, Sriwass sir suggested me to look quite different in this movie. I have even lost five and half kilos to get a different look.

Q) Tell us about your character?

My character’s name itself has a prominence in the movie. So, I can’t reveal it now. Apart from that, my role has a lot of scope to showcase my performance skills. More importantly, it is not a typical commercial heroine kind of role that comes and goes during songs.

Q) Did you receive any compliments from Balayya?

Yes. He has seen some of my scenes while dubbing and appreciated me. He even told me that my performance has reminded him of the legendary actress Savithri garu. I am very lucky to got such a fantastic compliment from a legendary actor like Bala Krishna.

Q) How was it working with your producer cum director Sriwass garu?

He is a perfectionist in both aspects. He knows how to handle a scene commercially and has a clear cut knowledge on expenditure. But he has not compromised in terms of budget for Dictator.

Q) How do you receive the rumors which surfaced about you and Omkar?

I am very sensitive. Such kind of rumors upset me big time. But my friends encouraged me by saying that, I am being dragged into rumors as I have a great name.

Q) There is a stiff competition for heroines in Tollywood. How do you overcome this?

There is no competition here. All of it has been created by the media only. Here, every heroine is getting enough offers based on her talent only. For example, I am getting such roles which cannot be done by others.
