Interview : Bobby – Waltair Veerayya will entertain both multiplex and B & C center audiences.

Megastar Chiranjeevi’s Waltair Veerayya is up for a grand release on 13th January. The movie also has Mass Maharaja Ravi Teja in a key role. Shruthi Haasan plays the lead actress. Directed by Bobby, Mythri Movie Makers produced the biggie. Ahead of the film’s release, we interacted with director Bobby, and here is the transcript.

How is your working experience with Chiranjeevi and Ravi Teja?

Like Chiranjeevi Garu and Ravi Teja came up the ladder in their careers without any support, I, too, have come to the industry in the same way. So I feel lucky to work together with them on a project. We designed the film, especially keeping in mind the mass audience.

Will there be pressure to deliver a hit film with Megastar Chiranjeevi?

There is absolutely nothing like it. Chiranjeevi Garu has gone through everything in his career. He had blockbusters, and he also had flops. We can say that others won’t have the kind of balance Chiru Garu has. Ravi Teja Garu also comes under the same category and will give complete effort to a film.

As many fans are associated with the project, do you feel you missed out on the regular audience?

I narrated the script before lockdown as a fanboy. But in lockdown, the complete scenario was changed, and the audience got habituated to OTT content. Hence

we designed a story that will satisfy everyone, and it is when Ravi Teja’s character was designed. Waltair Veerayya will entertain multiplex as well as B & C centers audiences.

How will the film be?

There would be entertainment in each and every scene of the film. However, the movie won’t confine to entertainment alone and also has solid emotions. Waltair Veerayya, as a whole, is a colorful entertainer for this festive season.

How is it clashing with your colleague Gopichand Malineni?

I worked as a writer while Gopichand was a director. We used to call each other, bro. I am happy as both of us are coming with two films under the same production house. We met during the post-production and exchanged best wishes. I am confident that both films will entertain the audience.

Could you talk about the film’s Hindi version?

Chiranjeevi Garu and Ravi Teja Garu enjoy a good following among the Hindi audiences, and they also do have a good market there. Hence our producers decided to release the film in Telugu and Hindi simultaneously.
