Interview : Catherine Tresa – I always like playing arrogant roles

Off late, Catherine Teresa is doing some very interesting roles and the same will be repeated in her upcoming film Gautam Nanda. We spoke to her in detail and let’s see what she has to say.

What’s the reason behind playing the second lead?

For me, there is nothing called second lead. I only look at my role, the importance it has to the story and the scope I will get to perform in it. Also, I look at the team that is involved and who the director is.

About your role in the film?

I play a very beautiful and arrogant called Mughda. It is very realistic and for this purpose, I have even dubbed in my own voice. This is the first time I have dubbed for myself and the result is very convincing.

Working with Hansika?

I had some fun time working with her. Both of us have a very crucial scene in the climax which has come out quite well. Hansika looks very glamorous in the film and will surely impress everyone.

What kind of roles do you want to act in?

I always like roles which are level headed and strong in nature. I don’t like being the woman who is sober or dominated by others. Also, I love dancing and make sure that all my roles get some good dance numbers to act in.

Working with Sampath Nandi?

He has narrated the film in a superb manner. Rather than going with unnecessary heroism, he has stuck to the story and showcased Gopichand in a superb manner. I love the way he showcases all his heroines in his rain songs.

Your role in Nene Raju Nene Mantri?

I have a very strong role which showcases various emotions through the film. The audience will surely be shocked to see me in such a strong role. Teja has directed the film in a superb manner and I hope NRNM will break the stereo type kind of films in Tollywood.

Your Telugu has increased tremendously. What’s the secret?

Frankly, I have appointed a Telugu coach and am learning to speak Telugu through him. Things have changed as one needs to be on top of the game to work in films these days. Learning Telugu is the best thing that has happened to me in the recent times.

Future Projects?

I have signed a Tamil film as of now and am currently reading scripts in Telugu.
