Interview : Dr. Naresh Vijaya Krishna – I consider myself lucky for completing 50 years as an actor

Dr. Naresh Vijaya Krishna has completed 50 glorious years in the industry. The actor has been part of great films and played many memorable roles. Naresh interacted with the media on this special occasion and shared his happiness. Here is the transcript.

How does this golden jubilee journey feel?

All I have known since childhood was Krishna Garu, Amma Vijaya Nirmala’s make-up room, the people who come and meet in Madras early in the morning, and the studio’s atmosphere. I grew up watching all of these. I started my career with Pandanti Kapuram, and I was 9 years old during that film. The fear of child actors not succeeding lingered, but that didn’t stop me. I got two film offers with Mom’s ‘Prema Sankellu’ and ‘Jandhyala Garu’s Nalugu Sthambhalata.’ I owe much to Jandhyala Garu, my mother, Vishwanath Garu, Bapu Garu, Ramana Garu, and others in my first innings. I consider myself fortunate to have completed a 50-year cinematic journey

Your first innings had some disappointments. How did you evolve?

Despite having victories, I felt disappointed slightly for not being able to do films that I wanted to. I am an adventurous person in reel and real life, dabbling in politics and social service and staying away from the industry for about 10 years. Inspired by SV Ranga Rao Garu, I embraced diverse characters in my second innings. I express my gratitude to the directors who offered me unique roles.

How are you coping with the loss of Vijaya Nirmala Garu?

There used to be festive vibes in the house, but the passing away of Krishna Garu, Vijaya Nirmala Garu, Indiramma Garu, and Ramesh led to a sense of depression. We miss them, but with their blessings, we are working to fulfill their aspirations.

What are the plans for Vijaya Krishna Green Studios?

We are working towards transforming Vijaya Krishna Green Studios into a fully modern studio. The introduction of virtual floors is under consideration. We will soon announce a production under our banner. I will continue to serve the industry as long as I am an actor.

Do you have any dream roles which you aspire to play?

I am getting many opportunities, especially in the current social conditions. I’m open to impactful negative roles and lead roles with good banners and budgets. I prioritize story and character over remuneration.
