Lately, Thaman has been facing criticism over his sound mixing. Some have complained that his music has been excessively loud, and even his latest outing, Akhanda 2, received similar feedback. In a recent interview, Thaman responded to the chatter surrounding him.
“I have been cautioning theatres since the beginning for Akhanda 2. Many theatres upgraded their screens to Qube but retained their old speakers. That’s not my fault. I usually specify a certain volume for particular scenes, but the final call is taken collectively by the entire team. The Dolby engineer has to give approval. If we use old tyres for cars, punctures will happen automatically,” said Thaman.
Going by his words, it appears that Thaman is quite frustrated with the criticism directed at him. Right now, the music composer is working on Prabhas’ The Raja Saab, which is scheduled for a Sankranthi 2026 release.
