When a sports film is made, the comparisons with iconic films in that genre are inevitable. Buchi Babu Sana was asked to explain how Peddi will be different from some of the classic sports dramas like Dangal, Lagaan, and Sultan, which continue to hold a special place in the audience’s hearts.
“Peddi is about a youngster from Vizianagaram who deals with his issues through the sport that he knows. His game becomes his revolution. The core point that we pick becomes the driving force for any film, and that’s why Peddi is unique in its own way. The basic premise itself brings the difference, and it sets our film apart from the previous ones,” said Buchi Babu Sana.
He added, “Peddi is an inspiring story, and it motivates people. There is a lot that can be learned from Peddi’s character. Whenever I feel low, I watch Krishna garu’s Alluri Seetarama Raju. I don’t think there can be a bigger commercial film than it.”
