Fresh off the success of Gaami, Telugu actress Chandini Chowdary found herself in hot water after remarks made during a press event for her upcoming film Music Shop Murthy. When asked about her favorite IPL team, Chandini’s response ignited a firestorm of criticism on social media.
In a bid to address the backlash, Chandini took to her social media platforms to clarify her stance. She wrote, “When asked about my favorite IPL team, I said I would want to watch more games to fully experience and comment. I also intended to express that it would be nice if Andhra had a team too. Of course, editing the speech according to ‘trending’ content and showing statements out of context is easy for the parties involved. I am proud of both my Telugu states, and I belong to BOTH OF THEM. Wishing team SRH the best this IPL season.” Despite her explanation, the controversy shows no signs of abating, with netizens continuing to lambast her for her comments.
Amidst this, Music Shop Murthy gears up for its theatrical debut on May 31, 2024, with Ajay Ghosh as the main lead. The movie is directed by debutant CS Karthikeyan.
