Irumudi continues its strong box-office run with Ravi Teja in the lead and Shiva Nirvana at the helm. The film has already crossed the Rs. 100 crore gross mark in just 4 days without ticket-price hikes or any holiday advantage.
The real test arrived on day 6 with Yash-starrer Toxic entering the race and taking away a significant number of screens in the Telugu states. Despite the reduced showcasing and fewer shows, Irumudi recorded around 243K ticket sales on BookMyShow, an impressive hold considering the new competition.
The strong audience response has even prompted exhibitors to add night shows at several locations, particularly after Toxic failed to make the expected impact. With positive word of mouth continuing to drive audiences, Irumudi is proving that its momentum remains intact despite the arrival of a major new release.
The upcoming weekend is now crucial, with no major competition on the horizon. If the film continues to hold strongly, the Rs. 200 crore mark could become a realistic target in its theatrical run.
