After a delay of more than seven months from its originally planned release date, Thalapathy Vijay’s Jana Nayagan has finally released in cinemas worldwide today. Despite the film getting leaked online ahead of its release, the pre-release buzz remained strong and fans turned out in huge numbers.
Advance bookings were impressive, with ticket sales picking up rapidly across major markets. The strong response has raised expectations for a massive opening at the worldwide box office.
The biggest question now is whether Jana Nayagan can cross the Rs. 100 crore mark on its opening day worldwide. While there is no official estimate yet, trade circles believe the film has a strong chance if spot bookings and walk-in audiences remain solid throughout the day.
Directed by H. Vinoth and produced by KVN Productions, the film stars Vijay, Pooja Hegde, Bobby Deol and Mamitha Baiju in key roles. The music is composed by Anirudh Ravichander.
