The seven-month-long wait for Thalapathy Vijay fans has finally ended, as the actor’s farewell film, Jana Nayagan, has finally secured its censor certificate. The team had to overcome multiple hurdles to obtain the certificate.
Jana Nayagan has been cleared with an ‘A’ (Adults Only) certificate with an approved runtime of 183 minutes (3 hours and 3 minutes). While the original Bhagavanth Kesari received a U/A certificate for its mild violence, the remake has been awarded an A certificate, indicating that the script underwent significant changes.
Now, it is only a matter of time before the makers announce the release date. The film was originally slated for a Pongal 2026 release, but the CBFC’s objections and its decision to refer the film to the Revising Committee delayed the process. Later, the producer approached the court, which further complicated the situation.
