The issue regarding playing national anthem in all cinema halls has become quite political these days. Ever since the central government made it mandatory to play the National Anthem, there has been resistance from certain quarters about why one has to prove their patriotism in this manner.
While the Supreme Court suggested that one doesn’t have to stand up when the national anthem is played in cinema halls to prove their patriotism, Kamal Haasan has now joined the debate. He opined that instead of testing and forcing patriotism in various random places, it’ll be better if the government has a better plan to implement it.
“Singapore plays it’s national anthem every midnight.Likewise do so on DD. Do not force or test my patriotism at various random places,” Kamal Haasan tweeted. Interestingly, even Arvind Swami stated that the anthem should be places at lot of other places, instead of just restricting it to cinema halls.
