Karuppu

Karuppu has emerged as a massive sensation at the Tamil Nadu box office, grossing an impressive Rs. 300 crore worldwide, with more than Rs. 200 crore coming from its home market alone. Directed by RJ Balaji, the Suriya starrer rural fantasy action drama captivated audiences throughout its theatrical run.

Tomorrow, the blockbuster, along with its Telugu dubbed version Veerabhadrudu, is set to make its digital debut on Amazon Prime Video. Fans are eagerly waiting to revisit the film and help it gain even more traction on streaming.

However, one major question remains unanswered: will the deleted scenes be included in the OTT version?

For the uninitiated, actor Arya shot an extended cameo for the film, but his entire portion was removed from the theatrical cut due to runtime constraints. While fans are hopeful that the makers will restore these scenes for the streaming release, there has been no official confirmation about an extended version.

Apart from Arya’s appearance, viewers are also eager to see other omitted sequences, including a scene in which Suriya recreates his iconic watermelon moment from Ghajini, as well as a key 3.5 minute emotional courtroom sequence that was reportedly trimmed from the final cut.

Produced by Dream Warrior Pictures, the film features an ensemble cast including Trisha, Indrans, and Swasika, while Sai Abhyankkar composed the chartbuster soundtrack.

Karuppu premieres tomorrow on Amazon Prime Video in multiple languages. Stay tuned for further updates on whether the OTT version includes any of the much talked about deleted footage.
