Manjummel Boys utilized the opportunity well, but the momentum didn’t carry forward as there were no noted releases.
The re-release of Thalapathy Vijay’s Ghilli has set the cash registers ringing, and this gave some relief to the theatre owners amidst the lull period. On 10th May, Kavin’s Star is hitting the big screens, and the industry has pinned high hopes on this flick. Kavin’s Dada was a super hit, and the trailer of Star has become the topic of discussion. Kavin is being lauded for his versatility and makeover.
Though Aranmanai 4 can rake in decent numbers, the industry desperately needs one big hit, and many expect that Star will end the dry spell with huge box office numbers. After May, Kollywood has a plethora of biggies lined up for release, and trade experts believe that Star will set the stage for the biggies. Tollywood producer B.V.S.N Prasad bankrolled this flick. Directed by Elan, the film has Aaditi Pohankar and Preity Mukundhan in pivotal roles.
