The shocking news is that prominent actor Pradeep Rawat (74) passed away this evening. He had been battling blood cancer for the last few years and was reportedly undergoing treatment at a hospital in Bhiwandi, where he breathed his last.

The actor had initially recovered from cancer, but it is believed that the disease relapsed, leading to a complete deterioration in his health. Pradeep Rawat’s Lagaan co-star Yashpal Sharma broke the news on social media.

Pradeep Rawat left a lasting impression on audiences with his performances in films such as Ghajini (both the Tamil and Hindi versions), Chatrapathi, Sye, Lagaan, Sarfarosh, Bhadra, Desamuduru, Nenu Sailaja, and Naayak. Gaayapadda Simham marks his last on-screen appearance.

Pradeep Rawat first gained recognition for portraying Ashwatthama, the son of Dronacharya, in B.R. Chopra’s iconic television series Mahabharat. Fans, colleagues, and members of the film fraternity are mourning the loss of the veteran actor.
