The Raja Saab is one of the most forgettable films in Prabhas’ career. The romantic horror-fantasy comedy directed by Maruthi failed to strike a chord with audiences and ended up as a box-office debacle.
During the promotions of Garividi Lakshmi, producer TG Vishwa Prasad was asked what the team had learned from The Raja Saab’s result. He said, “We are in a very good mood. Don’t mistake me. One of the fundamental mistakes is arriving in a crowded season. Had the film been released on some other date, the result would have been different. Right now we are enjoying Garividi Lakshmi. Let us enjoy.”
The producer’s statement instantly sparked discussions among netizens, who feel that the movie didn’t have enough merits to survive at the box office, irrespective of the season. Fans also opine that the team could have done much better, as the subject had potential.
