Riteish Deshmukh’s historical action drama created history by emerging as the biggest opener of Marathi cinema over the first weekend with about Rs. 37 crores nett. The Marathi version is contributing the majority of the revenue. On the very crucial Monday, Raja Shivaji had a good hold at the box office.
According to trade reports, the movie earned around Rs. 6 crores nett, which is half of the opening day. A 50% hold on Monday compared to the opening day means a positive sign, and the film looks set for long run.
Interestingly, the makers have not opted for Tuesday offers, and it remains to be seen how much the movie will collect in the coming days. Raja Shivaji also features Sanjay Dutt, Abhishek Bachchan, Vidya Balan, Mahesh Manjrekar, Sachin Khedekar, Bhagyashree, Fardeen Khan, Jitendra Joshi, Amole Gupte, and Genelia Deshmukh in pivotal roles.
