Energetic Star Ram Pothineni has officially kickstarted RAPO23, his most ambitious project to date. Besides playing the lead, Ram is making his directorial debut and has also written the original story for the psychological action thriller, which is set against a neo noir backdrop.
The film was launched today with a traditional pooja ceremony in Hyderabad. Producer Krishna Pothineni handed over the script to Ram, while veteran actor Murali Mohan switched on the camera for the muhurtham shot. PV Ravi Kishore sounded the clapboard, and Ram himself directed the first shot. The regular shoot also commenced today, with Ram joining the sets alongside the film’s principal cast.
Produced by Krishna Pothineni under the newly launched Rapo Cinematics banner, RAPO23 is the highest budgeted film in Ram’s career. National Award winning cinematographer Thiru, action choreographer Peter Hein, and production designer AS Prakash are handling the technical departments.
Nivetha Pethuraj is reportedly playing the female lead, although the makers are yet to officially announce the full cast. More details about the project are expected to be revealed soon.
