Suriya’s Scene is all set to hit theatres this Friday. The promotional campaign has been interesting and has helped the film generate good buzz. Bookings opened last night, with 6 AM shows also available. Interestingly, the film has already made a mark in ticket sales.
At the moment, Scene has sold around 7K tickets in an hour, while Ramayana has sold 3K tickets in the same period. This is an early trend, as bookings for Scene have only just opened and audiences are showing good interest. On the other hand, Ramayana bookings opened two weeks ago. With the film releasing tomorrow, ticket sales are expected to pick up further as positive word of mouth spreads.
While Ramayana has the advantage of being a big film with huge expectations, Suriya’s Scene is also grabbing attention. The film has a chance of performing well at the box office, although a shortage of screens has become an issue in some regions. It will be interesting to see how both films perform once they hit theatres.
