Tamannaah’s Aranmanai 4 revives Kollywood; Crosses 50 crores gross

Kollywood has been going through a slump ever since the beginning of the year. The lack of prominent releases is the key reason for this situation. Vijay’s Ghilli (re-release) provided a sigh of relief to exhibitors, and now Aranmanai 4, fronted by Tamannaah and Sundar C, is turning out to be a golden goose for distributors.

Despite being a template-based film, Aranmanai has crossed 50 crores gross at the worldwide box office. Family audiences are thronging the theatres in big numbers, and the horror comedy has brought back the houseful boards in Tamil Nadu. The movie was released as Baak in Telugu, but the dubbed version couldn’t make an impact.

The movie is written and directed by Sundar. C. It also stars Raashii Khanna, KGF Ramachandra, Kovai Sarala, Sreenivas Reddy, and Vennela Kishore in vital roles. The prospects of Kollywood look bright, as the next release, Star, featuring Kavin, is having a good buzz.
