The latest box-office monster, Hanuman Ansh, officially crossed the Rs. 300 crore nett mark yesterday, a sensational feat for a film made on a shoestring budget of Rs. 2 crores. The film is based on the life of Neem Karoli Baba, a revered Hindu spiritual guru.
The devotional entertainer is in its ninth week, but its business still hasn’t exhausted, as it continues to draw audiences in good numbers. The Telugu-dubbed version is slated for release next Friday. What it means is that the OTT debut will not happen anytime soon.
Generally, Bollywood films follow an eight-week OTT window, but that isn’t the case with Hanuman Ansh. The makers are apparently prioritizing an extended theatrical run and want to keep their film running in cinemas for as long as possible. Since Hanuman Ansh is an all-time blockbuster, OTT offers will keep coming, and the producer will now have the say in finalizing the deal amount and streaming date.
Shobhinav Satyaa played the lead role, while Chandan Anand, Nikhil Dubey, Udaysinh Rajput, and Purnima Tiwari appeared in vital roles. Vishal Chaturvedi is the writer and director. Hanuman Ansh is bankrolled jointly by Swambhu Media Network Pvt. Ltd., Ragini S., Namrata G. S., Vishal Chaturvedi, and Anupriya A. Nagar.
