Film stars turning politicians is nothing new in Tollywood. This year too, several noted actors are in race to win the assembly and Lok Sabha elections in April. Young starlet Madhavi Latha Pasupuleti is the latest Tollywood celeb to take part in the elections.
On Sunday, the ruling national party BJP had allotted the Guntur West assembly constituency ticket to Madhavi Latha. The actress had joined the BJP last year. Whether she can withstand the heavy competition from the TDP, YSRCP and Janasena in the upcoming general elections remains to be seen. Madhavi Latha had made her acting debut with the 2008 hit romantic drama, Nachavule.
