Jana Nayagan was expected to be KVN Productions’ first release of 2026. However, production and release delays changed those plans, with KD: The Devil becoming the banner’s first major release of the year instead.
The production house later released Balan: The Boy, its maiden Malayalam venture, which earned positive reviews and critical appreciation. Now, KVN has officially announced August 26, 2026, as the release date for Toxic, the highly anticipated Yash-starrer that had faced several postponements.
The announcement has once again shifted attention to Jana Nayagan, which is being promoted as Vijay’s final film before his full-time entry into politics. Despite earlier assurances that an update would be announced soon, the makers have yet to reveal a release date.
Many fans had hoped the film would hit theatres on June 19, 2026, but no announcement materialised. With Toxic now locked for release, fans are increasingly eager for clarity on Jana Nayagan, which has remained without an official release plan for months.
Directed by H Vinoth, the film stars Pooja Hegde as the female lead and Bobby Deol as the antagonist. Mamitha Baiju plays a key role, while Anirudh Ravichander composes the music.
