A political rally in Tamil Nadu has landed DMK leader Udhayanidhi Stalin in legal trouble, with actor Vijay and actress Trisha unexpectedly finding themselves at the centre of the controversy.
The issue began during a protest over the Cauvery water dispute in Thanjavur. While responding to slogans raised by the crowd about actor-turned-politician and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay, Udhayanidhi allegedly made double meaning remarks that also involved Trisha. Videos from the rally quickly went viral, sparking widespread criticism.
The matter soon reached the police after members of Vijay’s party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), filed a complaint. Based on it, a case was registered under multiple legal provisions.
In the latest development, Udhayanidhi has been detained for questioning in connection with the case. While DMK leaders say his speech has been taken out of context, TVK leaders have demanded strict action.
The case has since become a major talking point in both political and entertainment circles, with many now waiting to see how it unfolds.
