Korean Kanakaraju, starring Mega Prince Varun Tej, is gearing up for a grand theatrical release on August 7. Directed by Merlapaka Gandhi, the horror-comedy features Ritika Nayak as the female lead.
Even before its release, the film has turned heads with its impressive pre-release business. According to industry reports, the makers have closed the OTT, satellite, audio, and Hindi dubbing rights for a whopping Rs. 26 crore.
Made on an estimated budget of Rs. 38 crore, the film has already recovered a major portion of its investment through its non-theatrical deals. Trade circles also expect the theatrical rights to fetch another Rs. 12-15 crore, putting the project in a strong financial position ahead of its release.
The encouraging business is said to be the result of the positive response to the teaser, songs, and other promotional content released so far. The film has managed to generate healthy buzz in the trade, reflecting the confidence of buyers.
Apart from Varun Tej and Ritika Nayak, the film also features Satya in a pivotal role. Produced jointly by UV Creations and First Frame Entertainments, Korean Kanakaraju has music composed by Thaman.
