Last year, the Gujarati devotional film Laalo – Krishna Sada Sahaayate created a rage at the box office. It started slowly but went on to become the biggest Gujarati hit of all time, collecting more than Rs. 100 crores despite featuring no major stars and being made on a limited budget.
There has been talk that the movie will soon be remade in Telugu. Recently, there were reports that Ram Charan would play the role of Lord Krishna, but a latest exclusive report by Bollywood Hungama states that Vijay Deverakonda will be seen as Lord Krishna in the Telugu adaptation.
The report mentioned, “It’s indeed true that Laalo’s Telugu remake is in the works. But Ram Charan is not a part of it. It’s Vijay Deverakonda who has bagged the much-sought-after role of Lord Krishna. Laalo – Krishna Sada Sahaayate’s Telugu version will be produced by the reputed filmmaker Dil Raju. He recently bagged the Telugu remake rights. Vipul D Shah of Optimystix helped finalize this deal.”
Laalo – Krishna Sada Sahaayate revolves around an auto-rickshaw driver whose attempt to steal from an isolated mansion takes an unexpected turn when he finds himself trapped inside. With no way out, he encounters a mysterious stranger who comes to his aid and is eventually revealed to be Lord Krishna. Directed by Ankit Sakhiya, the film features Karan Joshi in the lead role, while Shruhad Goswami portrays Lord Krishna.
